Background
The inspiration behind the song comes from children's book, The Little Engine That Could. Dolly said it is one of the first books she remembers. In the 2020 book, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, Dolly said, "By the way, that's the first book that we give out through my Imagination Library program. It's all come about because of the faith instilled in me by Mama saying, "Through God all things are possible." And because of the message of that little book. So when I got ready to write songs for my children's album I thought of 'I believe in you. I can do it, so can you.' I think it's so important to instill in children to have faith and to know there are great things out there. Greatness is out there, greatness you can tap into. But it has to start from in your heart."
