The song was written by Jada's mother and Dolly's sister, Freida Parton, and Jada's father, Mark Andersen. Dolly originally recorded the song for her 1980 album, 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, and it appeared on the B-side of the original "9 to 5" single. This re-recording features backing vocals from Jada's cousin and Dolly's niece, Rebecca Seaver, and Jada's longtime collaborator, Barry J. It was produced by Eric Rupert and Ollie Knight.
