"Stand by the River" is a single by Dottie Rambo and Dolly Parton. It was released in September 2002 by Spring Hill Records as a single from Rambo's album of the same name. The song was written by Rambo and produced by Michael Sykes. It won Song of the Year at the Christian Fan Awards and was nominated for Country Recorded Song of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.

Music video

The music video was directed by Stephen Yake. It was filmed for and released as a part of We Shall Behold Him: A Tribute to Dottie Rambo in September 2003. The special was hosted by Barbara Mandrell at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and was nominated for a National Religious Broadcasters Award.

Commercial performance

The single appeared on many unofficial music charts. Most notably, it peaked at number one on the Christian Country Radio Charts and the PowerSource Magazine Christian County Singles chart in December 2002.

Accolades

The song won Song of the Year at the Christian Fan Awards in 2004, in addition to Dottie and Dolly being awarded Duo of the Year. At the 2003 Christian Country Music Awards the single was nominated for Song of the Year and Video of the Year, Dottie and Dolly were nominated for Duo of the Year, and Dottie was awarded Songwriter of the Year and received the Pioneer Award. The single was also nominated for Country Recorded Song of the Year at the 2004 GMA Dove Awards.
