"You Are" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on March 25, 1977, by RCA Victor as the first European single from Dolly's eighteenth solo studio album, New Harvest...First Gathering. The B-side, "Applejack", was released as the second European single on August 27, 1977. ​The UK 45 single was reissued to radio DJs in August 1977 with a sticker indicating "Applejack" as the A-side. Both sides were written by Dolly who also produced the tracks with Gregg Perry. "You Are" was reissued in 1983 in the Netherlands to promote the European compilation, The Love Album​.

Recording

"You Are" was recorded on August 20, 1976, at Soundshop Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. "Applejack" was recorded on December 10, 1976, at ​Creative Workshop in Nashville.

A promotional music video was created using footage of Dolly on tour for the 1983 reissue of "Your Are".
