July 15, 1974: "Please Don’t Stop Loving Me" is released as the first and only single from Porter Wagoner and Dolly's eleventh collaborative studio album, Porter 'n' Dolly. The single peaked number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming the duo's only song to top the chart. July 17, 1978: Dolly released her twentieth solo studio album, Heartbreaker. It peaked at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 27 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA one month later for shipment of more than 500,000 copies. July 19, 1971: The Best of Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton compilation album is released. it included one previously unreleased song, "Better Move It on Home". The album peaked at number seven on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. July 21, 2008: "Shinola" is released as the third single from Dolly's forty-second solo studio album, Backwoods Barbie. July 21, 2023: "We Are the Champions / We Will Rock You" is released as the fourth single from Rockstar. While the song failed to impact any Billboard charts, a music video was released to tie-in with the 2024 Olympics Games. A clip of the music video premiered July 27 on Today with the full video being uploaded to YouTube later that day.

The Grass Is Blue is the thirty-seventh solo studio album by Dolly Parton. It was released on October 26, 1999, by Sugar Hill Records and Dolly's own Blue Eye Records. The first in Dolly's critically acclaimed bluegrass trilogy, it was produced by Steve Buckingham. It peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Two singles were released, "A Few Old Memories" and "Silver Dagger". The album won Best Bluegrass Album at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards.
