It was released on August 26, 2022, by Butterfly Records and Warner Records as the first single from the Ultimate Edition of Dolly's A Holly Dolly Christmas album. It was written by Dolly and was produced by Steve Goldstein. The song was written for and included in the 1986 ABC television movie of the same name. No soundtrack album was released, so its inclusion on the Ultimate Edition of A Holly Dolly Christmas marked its first commercial release.
