"A Tender Lie" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released simultaneously with "Bluer Pastures" and "Seven Bridges Road" on April 2, 2001, by Sugar Hill Records and Blue Eye Records as one of the first three singles from Dolly's thirty-eighth solo studio album, Little Sparrow. "A Tender Lie" was sent to country radio stations. It was written by Randy Sharp and produced by Steve Buckingham. The song had previously been a number one hit for Restless Road in 1988.
