"Always, Always" is a single by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton. It was released on May 19, 1969, by RCA Victor as the second single from their album of the same name. The song was written by Joyce McCord and produced by Bob Ferguson. It peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Recording

"Always, Always" was recorded on April 23, 1969, at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee. The B-side, "No Reason to Hurry Home", was recorded two days earlier on April 21.

Audio


Critical reception

Billboard reviewed the album in the May 31, 1969 issue. The review described the track as an "exceptional duet" and "a poignant, meaningful ballad," saying that it would "top the success of their recent" single.

​Cashbox also reviewed the single in their May 31, 1969 issue, saying that it should "follow in the footsteps of their last success." They described the song as a "harmonious ballad packed with strong listening appeal."

Commercial performance

"Always, Always" debuted at number 60 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated June 21, 1969. It peaked at number 16 on the chart dated July 26, its sixth week on the chart. The single spent 11 weeks on the chart. It also peaked at number nine on the Cashbox Country Singles chart.
