"Dagger Through the Heart is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on July 8, 2002, by Sugar Hill Records and Blue Eye Records to Triple A radio as the first single from Dolly's thirty-ninth solo studio album, Halos & Horns. It was sent to Country radio on August 12. The song was written and produced by Dolly. It ​was nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance ​at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards.

Music video

The ​"Dagger Through the Heart" music video was directed by Brent Hedgecock. It was filmed on June 14, 2002, in Nashville, Tennessee, and debuted July 20 on CMT's Most Wanted Live.

Accolades

​The single was nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance ​at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards in 2003.
