"Forever Country" is a single by Artists of Then, Now & Forever (see below for a complete list of artists featured). It was released on September 16, 2016, to commemorate the 50th Country Music Association Awards. The song is a mashup up "Take Home Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver, "On the Road Again" by Wilie Nelson, and "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly. The track was written by ​Bill Danoff, Taffy Nivert, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton; and produced by Shane McAnally. The single peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The single's music video was directed by Grammy Award-winning director Joseph Kahn. it was released on September 21, 2016.

Commercial performance

The single debuted and peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated October 8, 2016, and remained there for an additional week. It charted for 18 weeks. Technically, this is Dolly's twenty-sixth number one on the chart, but since the track is credited to Artists of Then, Now & Forever, it is not counted toward her total. The single also peaked at number 21 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Accolades

The music video won Video of the Year at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards in 2017.
