"Light of the Stable" is a single by Emmylou Harris with harmony vocals by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Young. It was released on December 1, 1975, by Reprise Records. The single would later be included as the title track to Harris' 1979 (UK)/1980 (US) album, Light of the Stable: The Christmas Album. The song was written by Steven Rhymer and Elizabeth Rhymer. It was produced by Brian Ahern. The single peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Critical reception

The single was reviewed in the December 13, 1975 issue of Cashbox magazine. The review said, "Emmylou sings praises to the birth of the Savior. In a clear vocal tone with effective guitar and harmony accompaniment, it's a brilliant Christmas production by Brian Ahern."

Commercial performance

The single debuted and peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated December 27, 1975, its only week on the chart.
