"Star of the Show" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on July 7, 1979, exclusively in the Netherlands by RCA Records as the fourth single from Dolly's twenty-first solo studio album, Great Balls of Fire. It was released in Australia in December 1979. The song and its B-side, "Down", were both written by Dolly. It was produced by Dean Parks and Gregg Perry.

Promotional videos

​Promotional videos were filmed for both sides of the single. "Star of the Show" features Dolly performing in a blue dress against a black backdrop with multi-colored lights flashing behind her, while "Down" depicts Dolly performing the song in a white dress against a gray backdrop surrounded by pink flowers.
