"Tie Our Love (In a Double Knot)" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on April 7, 1986, by RCA Records as the fourth and final single from Dolly's twenty-seventh solo studio album, Real Love. The song was written by Jeff Silbar and John Reid. It was produced by David Malloy. The single peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Recording

"Tie Our Love (In a Double Knot)" was recorded on October 31 and November 1, 1984, at Rumbo Recorders in Los Angeles, California. "I Hope You're Never Happy" was recorded at the same studio on an unknown date.

Critical reception

The single was reviewed in the April 19, 1986 issue of Billboard magazine. The review said, "Country imagery propelled by spirited, high-tech instrumentation; Parton can make a far-fetched simile seem merely spunky and folksy."

Cashbox also reviewed the single in their April 19, 1986 issue. It said, "Dolly goes at it again with a pop-flavored, fast-moving number that's easy to pick up on!"

Commercial performance

"Tie Our Love (In a Double Knot)" debuted at number 67 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated May 3, 1986. It peaked at number 17 on the chart dated June 28, its ninth week on the chart. The single charted for 15 weeks. It also peaked at number 32 on the Cashbox Country Singles chart.The single peaked at number 20 in Canada on the RPM Country Singles chart.
