"Together You and I" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on May 23, 2011, by Dolly Records and Warner Music Nashville as the first single from her forty-third solo studio album, Better Day. It was written by Dolly and produced by Kent Wells. Dolly first recorded it as a duet with Porter Wagoner in 1972 and it was included on their 1974 album, Porter 'n' Dolly. The single peaked at number 67 on the UK Official Singles Chart.

Recording

"Together You and I" was recorded at The Sound Kitchen in Nashville, Tennessee.

Music video

A music video for the single was filmed and originally scheduled to debut on May 28, 2011. However, the video was delayed for unknown reasons and later debuted on July 4 on country music video station CMT. The video was directed by Trey Fanjoy.

Commercial performance

The single debuted and peaked at number 67 on the UK Official Singles Chart dated September 24, 2011, its only week on the chart.
