"We Had It All" is a single by Dolly Parton. It was released on August 18, 1986, by RCA Records as a single from the Think About Love compilation album. The song was written by Troy Seals and Donnie Fritts. It was produced by Val Garay and remixed by Joe Scaife and Mark Wright. The song originally appeared on the 1984 album, The Great Pretender. It was originally recorded by Dobie Gray on his 1973 album, Drift Away. Dolly's cover peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and would be her final charting single for RCA.

Critical reception

The single was reviewed in the August 30, 1986 issue of Billboard magazine. The review said, "Solid country fare with an effective, no-frills arrangement, as Parton provides a touching and sensitive reading of the old Dobie Gray hit."

Cashbox also reviewed the single in their August 30, 1986 issue. It said, "A simple arrangement of a beautiful song infused with Dollymagic."

Commercial performance

​The remixed version of "We Had It All" debuted at number 70 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated September 6, 1986. It peaked at number 31 on the chart dated October 18, its seventh week on the chart. The single charted for 13 weeks. It also peaked at number 33 on the Cashbox Country Singles chart. It peaked at number 30 in Canada on the RPM Country Singles chart.
