Billboard revealed on Friday additional details about Dolly's upcoming album, Smoky Mountain DNA: Family, Faith and Fables. The album is being produced by Dolly's cousin, Richie Owens, who produced her 1998 album Hungry Again and the 1999 Dollywood exclusive album Precious Memories. It could feature upwards of 40 songs (an increase from the previously mentioned 30 songs) with appearances by over 20 family members. Smoky Mountain DNA will focus on the legacy of Dolly's family through her paternal side (Parton) with special focus on her maternal side (Owens), which immigrated to the United States from the United Kingdom in the 1600s. In addition to appearances from Dolly's immediate family, the voices of family members who have passed on will also be incorporated into the record. The album is slated to be released on November 15, 2024, on CD, LP, digital download, and streaming formats, with pre-order's beginning on June 21. The project's full track listing and first two singles will be released alongside the pre-order. The album's cover art was revealed on Friday, May 24, simultaneously by Billboard online and Dolly during a media event at Dollywood.
