November 28, 1983: "Save the Last Dance for Me" is released as the first single from Dolly’s twenty-sixth solo studio album, The Great Pretender. The single peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100.

November 29, 1965: "Busy Signal" is released as the third of Dolly’s five pop-leaning singles for Monument Records. The single did not chart.

November 29, 1976: Chet Atkins released the album The Best of Chet Atkins & Friends. The album features Dolly on the first commercially released recording of her composition "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind". The album peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

November 30, 1987: "I Believe in Santa Claus" is released as the fifth and final single from Kenny Rogers and Dolly’s 1984 album, Once Upon a Christmas. It had been released in Australia the previous year. The single does not chart.

November 30, 2018: The Dumplin’ soundtrack album is released. The album peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 143 on the Billboard 200.

December 1, 1975: Emmylou Harris released the "Light of the Stable" single featuring harmony by Dolly, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Young. The single peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It would later be included on Harris’ 1979 (UK) and 1980 (US) album of the same name.

December 1, 2009: Dolly released the stand alone Christmas single. "Comin’ Home for Christmas". The single did not chart during its initial release, but peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Holiday Digital Song Sales chart following its inclusion on Dolly’s 2020 album, A Holly Dolly Christmas.

December 2, 1981: The original 1974 recording of "Jolene" is reissued as a single in the Netherlands to promote the new compilation album Dolly.

December 3, 1972: "My Tennessee Mountain Home" is released as the first and only single from Dolly’s eleventh solo studio album of the same name. The single peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot County Songs chart.

December 4, 2020: "I Still Believe", from Dolly’s 2020 CBS Christmas special, A Holly Dolly Christmas, is surprise released as a digital bonus track and the fifth and final single from the 2020 version of A Holly Dolly Christmas. The single peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart and number 32 on the Billboard Holiday Digital Song Sales chart.

    Blue Smoke is the forty-fourth solo studio album by Dolly Parton. It was released by Dolly Records and Sony Masterworks on January 31, 2014, in Australia and New Zealand; May 13, 2024, in North America; and June 9, 2014, in Europe. The release was staggered to coincide with each leg of the Blue Smoke Tour, which ran from January to July 2014, grossing over $20 million. The album was produced by Kent Wells with Dolly serving as executive producer. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number six on the all-genre Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the album: "Blue Smoke", "Home", "Try", and "Unlikely Angel". At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, "You Can't Make Old Friends" was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

    Ben Childers is the administrator of The Dolly Parton Discography. A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, he grew up taking family vacations to the Smokies and Dollywood. His love for Dolly and her music reached a fanatical level in April 2013. After spending countless hours researching and cataloging Dolly's musical output, he decided to open a website dedicated to her discography. His dream of meeting Dolly came true on May 23, 2024.
