September 20, 1976: Mary Kay Place released her debut album, Tonite! At the Capri Lounge, Loretta Haggers. The album includes three songs that feature backing vocals by Dolly: "Good Old Country Baptizin'", "Coke and Chips", and a cover of Dolly's "All I Can Do". The album peaked at number six on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

September 21, 2010: Rhonda Vincent released her album Taken. It features a guest appearance by Dolly on "In the Garden by the Fountain". The album peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

September 22, 2015: James Rogers released his Beyond the Call album which features Dolly on the title track.

September 23, 1996: "Just When I Needed You Most" is released as the first single from Dolly's thirty-fourth solo studio album, Treasures. It  peaked at number 26 on the the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

​September 23, 2003: Kenny Rogers released the album Back to the Well. Dolly is featured on the song "Undercover", which she also wrote. The album peaked at number 52 on the ​Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

​​September 24, 1980: Emmylou Harris released Light of the Stable: The Christmas Album in the US. It had been released in the UK in November 1979. It includes the 1975 single "Light of the Stable", which features harmony vocals from Dolly, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Young. The album peaked at number 22 on the ​Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

September 24, 1996: Dolly's thirty-fourth solo studio album, Treasures, is released. It peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

September 25, 2001: The Ralph Stanley & Friends album Clinch Mountain Sweethearts is released. Dolly joins Ralph Stanley on the song "Loving You Too Well".

September 25, 2015: Don Henley released his Cass County album. It includes a duet with Dolly on a cover of the Louvin Brothers song "When I Stop Dreaming". The album peaked at number three on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

September 25, 2020: Linda Feller's 35 Jahre: Das Jubiläumsalbum album is released. Dolly is featured on a cover of her 1977 song "Applejack".

    Blue Smoke is the forty-fourth solo studio album by Dolly Parton. It was released by Dolly Records and Sony Masterworks on January 31, 2014, in Australia and New Zealand; May 13, 2024, in North America; and June 9, 2014, in Europe. The release was staggered to coincide with each leg of the Blue Smoke Tour, which ran from January to July 2014, grossing over $20 million. The album was produced by Kent Wells with Dolly serving as executive producer. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number six on the all-genre Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the album: "Blue Smoke", "Home", "Try", and "Unlikely Angel". At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, "You Can't Make Old Friends" was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

    Ben Childers is the administrator of The Dolly Parton Discography. A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, he grew up taking family vacations to the Smokies and Dollywood. His love for Dolly and her music reached a fanatical level in April 2013. After spending countless hours researching and cataloging Dolly's musical output, he decided to open a website dedicated to her discography. His dream of meeting Dolly came true on May 23, 2024.
